SBM has years of precious metal experience that employed all beneficiation methodologies. Below are examples of projects SBM has completed.
2009
Esperanza Silver Corp.- Cerro Jumil Project-Cuernavaca, Mexico
Esperanza and Vector requested SBM Inc. to assess available metallurgical test data and to provide a conceptual plant design with capital and operating cost estimates for the crushing and precious metal recovery circuits for this proposed operation.
Nova Gold Resources – Nome Operations-Alaska
SBM was commissioned by Alaska Gold Company to review the existing Rock Creek operations. Specifically, SBM reviewed the crushing and ore handling circuit, the milling and process plant, and the warehousing and mobile equipment maintenance facilities.
2008
Intrepid Potash -Wendover - Utah
Potash - Worked with personnel at Intrepid Potash’s operation in Wendover, Utah to upgrade the Compaction Plant. Reviewed the existing operation for bottlenecks and current industry practice. Evaluated two pieces of equipment selected by the mine staff and agreed they meet present standards and would improve the plant operation and throughput. Intrepid purchased the equipment for installation. SBM took the existing Construction Drawings and reproduced them as ACAD drawings. These drawings were the original construction drawing done by hand in 1962. The ACAD drawings were used to retrofit the new equipment with minimal problems. The new crusher had a smaller footprint than the equipment it replaced and the nanosizr fit the existing Airset area with minor revisions.
2002-2004
Trade and Development Authority, Assarel Medet, Bulgaria
Copper - The project consisted of a US Trade Development Authority grant to look at modernization of the 1990 copper mill. Phase I of the project consisted of laboratory testing of ore samples in the US to assess operating performance. From these results and SBM’s analysis, process modifications recommendations were generated. The work in Phase II increased production from 24,000 tpd to 36,000 tpd and recovery from 80% to 90% by modifying the mill operating system. Phase III completed the basic engineering package, which included a new pebble crusher for the autogenous mill and a new double trommel for the mill. The ball mills were then equipped with new pumps and cyclones. The rougher and scavenger were replaced with new 200 and 80 cubic meter cells. A new tailing thickener was installed.
2002
Behre Dolbear – Amessmessa - Algeria
Developed capital cost estimate and process/discipline drawings for crushing/milling/gravity gold circuit. SBM documents were included in Feasibility Report prepared by Behre Dolbear.
Newmont Mining - Lone Tree Mine - Nevada, USA
Pilot plant with a high-pressure portable screen plant and HP grinding and crushing.
1999
Geoma - Vueltas del Rio - Mexico
Provided detailed engineering of plant and crusher system.
1997
Globex Mining - Tonkin Springs - Nevada, USA
Provided engineering/design to add crushing plant to existing bioleach facility.
Consolidated Nevada Goldfields - Nixon Fork - Alaska, USA
Provided engineering/design and construction services for screening system in crusher circuit.
1995
Newmont Mining, Murtantau, Uzbekistan
Start-up and training services for 13,000-tonne per day 4-stage crushing plant, heap leach with Merrill Crowe ore processing facility.
Consolidated Nevada Goldfields, Nixon Fork, Alaska, USA
Engineering, procurement and construction of 150-ton per day crusher, mill, gravity flotation and refining facility.
1992
Newmont Mining - Muruntau Project, Uzbekistan
Gold and silver re-mining project from existing tailings piles with crushing to leach, IX absorption, IX stripping, and gold and silver separation circuits.
1990
Continental Lime/Climax Molybdenum
Lime - SBM reviewed lime handling system and prepared preliminary design recommendations for modifying existing system to provide for additional feed pointes to crusher system.
